On a scorching hot September day, Sophie and Ian's wedding ceremony at the National Theatre in London brought together music, laughter, and heartfelt moments that left everyone buzzing with joy.
As their wedding celebrant, I had the privilege of hosting their London ceremony. The goal was to bring together personal touches with the couple's signature vibrant, party energy. While I may be a Manchester celebrant, I'll happilly swoosh on over to wedding venues across the UK (and beyond!).
From a Chaka Khan singalong to dancing the night away at Fare's underground disco, their wedding was a colourful celebration of their fun-loving personalities.

The National Theatre terrace set the perfect scene for Sophie and Ian’s post-ceremony champagne toast.
Celebrating Their Story with a Wedding Celebrant Ceremony
Sophie and Ian chose the National Theatre for their wedding ceremony, a venue that combines cultural significance with breath-taking views of the city.
They wrote their own vows, sharing promises that reflected their unique journey together. The readings were selected to echo their love story, featuring lyrics from Fleetwood Mac that resonated with everyone present. I had the honour of telling their story...a joyful tale jam-packed with their adventures and mischief!
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the group singalong to Chaka Khan’s classic hit, Ain't Nobody.
A London Bus Ride to the Underground Disco
The party didn’t stop at the theatre. After their upbeat celebrant ceremony, Sophie and Ian surprised their guests with a ride on a classic London bus to Fare, a vibrant venue known for its delicious Italian cuisine.
No wedding is complete without stunning photographs to capture the day’s magic. Bruno Rondinelli, their talented photographer, was on hand to document every smile, tear, and dance move.
The final chapter of Sophie and Ian’s wedding was a night of dancing at an underground disco. The energy was infectious as guests let loose and celebrated the newlyweds with music and movement. The disco vibe perfectly matched Sophie and Ian’s fun-loving spirits, and the dancefloor was completely rammed!
Whether you need a London celebrant or a Manchester celebrant for your non-traditional ceremony, if I'm available, I will gladly travel to your chosen wedding venue. Simply get in touch to enquire about your wedding date.
Katie McCall, Award-winning Manchester wedding celebrant.
