'Tis the season...to get married! Summer weddings have always been popular, but more couples are now leaning towards autumnal and winter ceremonies. I'm here for it!

The festive season naturally brings a cozy atmosphere with twinkly lights aplenty, but planning a wedding during winter can also comes with its own challenges.

Embrace the winter weather

Your celebrant ceremony can take place anywhere at any time. Want a sunrise elopement on a snow-covered hillside? No problem, I'll grab my coat. But, if you're inviting lots of guests to your winter wedding ceremony, you might want to consider:

  • Choosing an indoor venue with outdoor access

Select a well-heated venue that offers a warm indoor space for the ceremony and reception, but also has an outdoor area for photos or a quick breath of fresh air.

  • Planning for winter weather

Here in the UK, winter weather can be unpredictable. Have a backup plan for snow, rain, and strong winds to keep guests dry and safe.

  • Providing snuggly items

Think about offering blankets, shawls, or even hand warmers for guests, especially if parts of your big day are outside.

Add Non-Traditional Elements to Personalize Your Christmas Wedding Ceremony

Don't feel like your whole wedding day has to look like a Clintons Christmas card...you can still add your personality.

  • Choose non-traditional colours

Instead of classic red and green, you could go for sumptuous jewel hues like emerald, sapphire, or rich burgundy. Metallics like gold and copper also add warmth and a bit of festive razzle dazzle.

  • Seasonal treats for everyone

Offer hot chocolate bar, cheese fondue, or mulled wine. Just a tasty little something to warm to cockles!

  • Festive singalong

At celebrant ceremonies, it's becoming really popular to incorporate a singalong. It's a great way to involve your wedding guests...and if you want a Christmassy song choice, we can sing a Christmas carol during your wedding ceremony.

There are a thousand ways to personalise your celebrant wedding ceremony.
